System Performance and Aboriginal Policy are conducting a number of negotiation sessions across the Northern Territory. These negotiations are aimed at incorporating a range of identified cultural elements into DHCS clinical, professional and policy practices. I would like to invite DHCS staff to participate. The sessions will be grouped according to professional interests:

  • Administrative
  • Nursing
  • Medical
  • Aboriginal Health Workers
  • Allied Health/Professional

The negotiation sessions will take no more than one day. Staff selected to participate will be joined by a number of other participants including regional cultural champions, quality and safety experts, brokers (professionals of standing), and other interested parties. The negotiation sessions will be restricted to a maximum of 30 participants per region.

I believe this will be a challenging and exciting process, working through the changes that are required to make the space where culture and service delivery intersect in a culturally secured manner.
