Youth Week in the Territory has a new face!
Tim Reilly, an active member of the youth community, has been appointed as the Territory's Young Member for 2010.
As the new Young Member, Mr Reilly will play a large part in the success of National Youth Week by providing a youth perspective in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the week.
Mr Reilly is an advocate for youth as a keen sports person, as a volunteer for Camp Quality, and by working with Surf Lifesaving-a role that sees him travel to remote communities in the NT.
Amy Robinson has held the NT Young Member role for two years and will today hand the position over to Mr Reilly.
Mr Reilly said he is keen to take up the position but realised there are big shoes to fill.
"Amy's done an incredible job. National Youth Week in the NT this year was an awesome undertaking that involved sporting, recreational, cultural, environmental and developmental events.
"Amy helped to promote activities across the NT all as part of highlighting the talents and achievements of the Territory's youth.
"The stakes are high but I'm hoping that next year's Youth Week will be even bigger."
Outgoing Territory Young Member Amy Robinson said the national youth talent competition is still open, with huge prizes to be won.
"Whether your talents are in music, writing, film-making, designing or photography, you can win $5,000 worth of gear. Check out the website youthweek.com and either RockIt, WriteIT, ShootIT, DesignIT or SnapIT," said Ms Robinson.
