Baby clinic goes rural

Palmerston Community Care Centre recently opened the new "Well Baby Clinic" at Humpty Doo.

The outreach service, provided by Child and Family Health Nurses will be held once a week at Humpty Doo to support families in the area.

The Well Baby Clinic provides brief interventions on a drop-in basis, no appointments are necessary.

The Well Baby Clinic provides an opportunity for parents and families to talk to a Child and Family Health Nurse about their baby and seek advice about breastfeeding, nutrition, parenting, sleep and child behaviour. Parents can also weigh their babies to check on their growth.

Clinical nurse Manager at Palmerston Community Care Center Jane Davies said the Well Baby Clinic is a great way for parents to monitor the growth of their babies and talk about their babies in a more relaxed setting.

"This outreach service now brings the well baby clinic closer to home for these parents, increasing the level of support and convenience we are able to offer our clients," she said.

The Humpty Doo Well Baby Clinic will operate from "The Meeting Place" at the Living Waters Uniting Church, Challenor Circuit, Humpty Doo on Fridays from 8am to 11.30am.
