H1N1 Influenza death at Royal Darwin Hospital

A 21-month old boy died at Royal Darwin Hospital earlier this week as a result of Pandemic (H1N1) Influenza 2009. The boy also had serious underlying medical conditions.

He is the sixth NT resident whose death has been notified as H1N1-related in accordance with national reporting criteria.

In consideration of family privacy, no further details will be released.

The hospital has expressed sympathy to the bereaved family for their sad loss.
