A positive test result for Human Swine Influenza (H1N1 Influenza 09) has been returned from an NT resident who visited the USA recently. The woman is in home isolation in Alice Springs and her contacts are being traced. This is the NT's second confirmed H1N1 case.
Two high school aged girls from Alice Springs who returned recently from Melbourne have tested negative to H1N1.
A negative test result has also been returned for a woman in Darwin who has been in home isolation after experiencing flu-like symptoms following her return from Melbourne.
Pathology swabs were taken today from four men and a woman in Central Australia who visited Melbourne recently and felt unwell upon return. They are receiving anti-influenza medication.
A woman who tested positive for Human Swine Influenza last Saturday is in home isolation in Darwin.
