Nightcliff Beach reopens to swimming

The precautionary advice for swimming at Nightcliff Beach has been lifted after test results from two consecutive water samples showed bacteria levels in this area had reduced and no longer posed a risk to public health.

Results indicate there is still a slightly elevated enterococci count in the area, coming just within the amber variant. While this reading is well within NT Recreational Microbiological Water Quality Guidelines, further testing will be carried out in the area tomorrow.

The Department of Health and Families will continue weekly sampling at all other Darwin Harbour beaches and the public will be kept informed of any changes to the situation.
