Northern Territory H1N1 Influenza update

The total number of H1N1 Influenza (human swine flu) cases in the Northern Territory is 189, with 12 cases being confirmed in the past 24 hours. The main areas where cases have been identified are Alice Springs (3) and Yuendumu (3).

10 people are currently hospitalised for conditions that include H1N1. 9 of these are in Alice Springs Hospital and 1 is in Royal Darwin Hospital.

Dr Vicki Krause-media briefing at 10.00 am Wednesday 1 July

Dr Vicki Krause, Director, Centre for Disease Control (CDC) will be available to brief media on the H1N1 situation at 10.00 am. The CDC is located on the west side of Royal Darwin Hospital campus.

H1N1 Influenza reports are distributed each weekday at 5.30 pm and the numbers posted to the table on the DHF web site at

www.health.nt.gov.au/H1N1_Influenza.

These numbers will also be updated on the web site on weekends and public holidays.
