Rapid Creek and Casuarina Beaches reopen, Lee Point Beach closed for swimming

Precautionary advice against swimming at Lee Point Beach has been issued today after routine beach water sampling by the Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport (NRETAS) showed elevated counts of E. coli bacteria.

All other beaches are open, including Casuarina and Rapid Creek Beaches after sampling as part of the monitoring program returned good quality water results.

Signs notifying the public of the closure at Lee Point have been erected at the beach's main entrances.

Further sampling at beaches has been undertaken today by NRETAS as part of the routine monitoring program.
