The Second National Indigenous Dialysis & Transplant Symposium

The Minister for Family and Community Services will today open the second National Indigenous Dialysis & Transplant Symposium at Sky City.

The forum will examine the progress made in delivering effective clinical care to Indigenous renal clients and showcase innovative and creative programs that provide the best possible health outcomes for clients and their carers.

While a key focus of this symposium is patient care and outcomes unique to Indigenous communities the meeting will also consider prevention strategies and solutions for managing future requirements in treating kidney failure.

Senior renal clinicians and policy makers from state and national departments will be in attendance.

As part of the opening ceremony, the 'Chooky Dancers' have been invited to perform their now world renowned Zorba the Greek routine.

The Elcho Island group will be performing their famous routine in front of many distinguished guests.

Media are invited to attend: Sky City, International Room 4.00pm - 6.00pm
