Allied Health


The Department provides a range of allied health professional services for the community. Depending on the type and nature of the service required, it may be provided in settings such as hospitals, community health centres, in the home and community, schools, rehabilitation units and childcare centres.

Allied health professional services include:

Allied health professionals' reference group

In May 2005, the Department established an Allied Health Professionals' Reference Group to advise the Executive on strategic matters relating to allied health such as professional development, culturally appropriate service delivery, and recruitment and retention. Each allied health discipline is represented on the Reference Group.
