Information for Dentists

Registration

To work as a dentist in the Northern Territory you must be registered with the Dental Board of the Northern Territory

 Who is eligible for registration?

  • Dentists qualified in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland
  • Other overseas educated dentists who have passed the Australian Dental Council Final Examination
  • Graduates of selected overseas dental schools employed under the Public Sector Dental Workforce Scheme (For more information click here)

Information for Dental Therapists and Oral Health Therapists

Registration

To work as a dental therapist or oral health therapist in the Northern Territory you must be registered with the Dental Board of the Northern Territory

 Who is eligible for registration?

  • Therapists qualified in Australia and New Zealand
  • Dental Therapists who are trained and experienced in providing dental care to adults can apply for Registration that includes authorisation to practise in a restricted practice area - provision of care and services to adults.

  • Therapists are employed in the Professional Stream and generally commence at the P2 level
