The 2012 Seasonal Influenza Vaccine is available FREE at the below locations for people in the following eligible risk groups:
- Anyone 65 years of age and over
- All Indigenous people 15 years of age and over
- All pregnant women (in any trimester)
- Anyone over six months of age with medical conditions that increase the risk of complications from severe influenza*.
*Note: For children aged between 6 months and 10 years Fluvax® and Fluvax® Junior should not be used.
All remote health centres and Aboriginal Medical Services offer FREE seasonal influenza vaccines to people in the eligible risk groups.
Some General Practitioners offer FREE seasonal influenza vaccines to eligible risk groups however they may charge a consultation fee.
People who wish to be vaccinated against influenza but are not eligible for the FREE 2012 Seasonal Influenza Vaccine, should see their General Practitioner for a prescription.
