Hearing

The Department provides a wide range of free hearing services including:

  • Comprehensive hearing assessments for adults, children and infants
  • Information and education for individuals and groups about hearing assessments and hearing health
  • Advice and support for people with hearing impairments
  • Specialised diagnostic testing, including Auditory Brainstem Response Testing and Otoacoustic Emissions
  • Compensation and litigation assessment
  • Medical assessments, eg: for employment or recreational purposes
  • Educational assessments, eg: auditory processing testing
  • Hearing health training for health and eduction professionals
  • Consulting and visiting Audiological service to Aboriginal communities and organisations
  • Hearing Conservation Program for Territory Public Sector Employees.
