Services

The Gove District Hospital is a 32 bed facility which provides the following:

  • 24 hour accident & emergency care, helicopter pad facility is available
  • General surgical, medical and paediatric care
  • 2 Respite beds
  • Elective and emergency surgery
  • Maternity services are available including caesarian capability
  • Pharmacy
  • Visiting specialist care
  • 24 hr medical imaging - on call service after hours
  • Pathology - on call service after hours
  • Stores
  • Mortuary- post mortems are not performed here at this time
  • Cyclone shelter - the stores building is the town designated cyclone shelter

The hospital is supported by these services, which are located off site but some nearby:

  •  Aerial Medical Services who provide retrieval service from remote communities & evacuation services to RDH.
  • Physiotherapy services
  • Occupational Therapy services on an as needs basis.
  • Social Worker for inpatients (onsite)
  • Mental Health Services
  • Alcohol & Other drug services
  • Domiciliary Care / Community Resource Nurse
  •  Speech therapy
  • Centre for Disease Control
  • Nutrition services available on site by prior arrangement
  • Adult Guardianship- provided from Darwin
  • Audiologist- regular visits from Darwin
  • Family & Community Services
  • Aged & Disability Services
  • Dentistry- Public & private practices available
  • Domestic Violence Coordinator
