The purpose of the ePublications repository is to provide permanent access to the electronic publications of the Northern Territory Department of Health.
Find out what is available in ePublications by browsing the collection.
What is ePublications?
ePublications is the Department's permanent, web-based repository that:
- Captures electronic publications in any format and makes them visible via the web;
- Indexes electronic publications so they can be found and retrieved from anywhere, at any time;
- Preserves and makes electronic publications permanently accessible from a unique 'handle' (permanent URL).
Who can submit publications and what can be submitted?
.Authorised Departmental employees may submit documents that are official Departmental publications which will become publicly accessible forever. Contact us to become registered to submit documents in the repository.
- You should be willing and able to grant the Library the right to preserve and distribute the work in ePublications.
- Pre-prints of journal articles can also be added. Many publishers offer a 'self-archiving' clause in publication contracts, which allows you to archive a copy of your works, including journal articles. If your publisher doesn't offer such a clause, you can negotiate to include one.
- Guidelines for the use of ePublications recommend procedures which should be used when creating metadata for ePublications. These metadata describe the item being submitted. They include its title, authors, date of publication, subject keywords and an abstract.
- Subject terms used in ePublications have been created using the Health & Ageing Thesaurus; this covers concepts of interest to all areas of the Department and is a basis for common terminology across the Department.
Contact the Resources Management Librarian on (08) 8922 8404 for more information about how to submit your publications.
