National Mental Health Strategy

The policy frameworks and standards that form part of the National Mental Health Strategy  guide the delivery of mental health services in the Northern Territory.

There are three key overarching national safety and quality frameworks to which NT Mental Health Services aspire. These are the:

In addition to the core standards documents outlined above, there are two principles documents that focus on particular aspects of mental health service delivery. These are the:

  • National Safe Transport Principles; and
  • National Emergency Mental Health Principles.
