Oral Health Services - NT provides quality oral health services to Territorians, including pain and trauma management, emergency care, restorative filings and repairs, endodontics, extractions, oral hygiene, oral health promotion and denture services.

Specialist services include orthodontics, oral surgery, and treatment in hospital under general anaesthetic.

Oral Health Services - NT is accredited with the Australian College of Healthcare Standards and currently collaborates with the Menzies School of Health Research and the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health in multi-centre clinical research programs.

Services for Adults

Adults with a Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card are eligible for free dental services. Please bring your card to your appointment.

The demand for services is always high so waiting lists can apply. Patients are prioritised based on their clinical need and those with the most urgent problems will get priority.

People who do not turn up for booked appointments make waiting times longer for everyone else. Please contact us if you are unable to attend your appointment. If you do not let us know you may have to wait longer for a new appointment.

Middle School and High School Students

Free dental services are provided at community clinics for Middle School and High School Students.

OHS-NT can also accept Medicare Teen Dental Program vouchers. More information on the Teen Dental program is available here

Primary School Students

Free services are provided to Primary School students through school-based clinics, community clinics and mobile services.

Dental clinics at some schools provide an assessment service only. If children at these schools require additional treatment they are referred to a convenient treatment centre at a nearby school clinic or community clinic.

For more information see Children's Dental Services

Infants and Preschoolers

Free services are provided to infants and children up to and including pre-school age through school-based clinics, community clinics and mobile services.

Contact your local clinic for details on how to access dental services for your child.
