NT Renal Services - Leading the Way

A professional and cultural experience you will never forget!

Vacancies:

The Territory is a unique place . - we know that . Now you can experience the lifestyle and career opportunities you have only dreamt about. Unique places appeal to unique people and the Territory is renowned for attracting imaginative and inventive people who want to make a difference and the difference is - You Can In The Territory !

NT Renal Services is known for its innovative and creative approach to problems. The professionals here get on with the job and often that means finding our own solutions.

That is why work in the Territory is like no other in Australia - we have led the way in many areas and continue to do so . Would you like to be involved in this multidisciplinary and groundbreaking service?

Careers

We have great opportunities for professionals with renal experience or an interest in renal care and working with Indigenous people. NT Renal Services promotes teamwork and has a strong multidisciplinary approach to delivering renal care and services.

Our teams consists of Aboriginal Health Workers, Dietitians, Social workers, Aboriginal Liaison Officers, senior nursing specialists, Registered and Enrolled nurses, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, Nephrologists, Advanced Trainee Renal Registrars and RMOs.

We consider all team members important and they contribute equally to the management and care of our clients.

Locations

The brilliant thing about working for NT Renal Services is that you have the opportunity to work in a variety of locations across the Territory. No boundaries, no jurisdictions, no resigning, just one service.

Supported rotations are also possible for the right people - spend 18 months or 2 years working your way from the centre to the coast while we pay your transport costs. There is such a variety of locations and environments available, from the urban to the remote, from the desert to the tropics and don't forget the culture. Nothing can compare to working with the local people and how similar but different the cultures are between the desert and saltwater people. Step into the future and experience the past.

Opportunities

The perception many people have of the NT is one of isolation, a backwater beyond the black stump with maybe a shirtless Outback Jack or Crocodile Dundee. This view has worked in n our favour. To ensure we keep abreast of clinical changes and best practice, the NT Government has strongly supported the development of a service that is at the top of clinical care delivery in Australia.

  • Education and skill development is zealously supported through funding programs for conference attendance, clinical workshops and postgraduate education.
  • Research is encouraged and promoted as it is considered essential to the development of evidence-based practices. We work with many organisations and NT Renal Services is currently involved in no fewer than 5 many projects on a local, national and international level.

Just to prove how creative and innovative we are, consider these Australian FIRSTS:

  • Clinical care - fistula flow rate monitoring,
  • Education - Aboriginal Health Worker (AHW) training in dialysis
  • Service delivery - satellites in remote communities, relocatable dialysis facilities and partnerships for remote dialysis
  • Service support - outreach programs and translated Indigenous educational materials
  • Client support - bush tucker hunting and cooking sessions, toll free numbers and one-stop shops for support services.

Are you ready to see the difference you can make?
