General Practitioner and Nursing appointments are available. Allied health psychology, physiotherapy, dietician and children's occupational therapy services are also available. Mental health services are situated at the Super Clinic. A Closing the Gap Indigenous clinic occurs each week. Clients can also access chronic disease managed care multidisciplinary services. Pathology collection services are available from 8am until 4 pm weekdays.
The Urgent Care After-Hours Service will continue to be open from 6.00 pm to 8.00 am in the Health Precinct. Appointments are not necessary.
GP Super Clinic Background
The Palmerston GP Super Clinic opened on 4 October 2010.
It is run by FCD Health Ltd, a not-for-profit joint venture between Flinders University and Charles Darwin University. Working with the NT Government, the Super Clinic offers patient-centred care and a multi-disciplinary approach to health.
The Palmerston GP Super Clinic is a joint initiative between the Australian Government and Northern Territory Government that enhances access to health care services in Palmerston and the surrounding rural area. Infrastructure funding was provided through the Australian Government's GP Super Clinics Program.
