  1. At present there is no way to prevent breast cancer therefore early detection through mammography (BreastScreen) is vital
  2. The earlier breast cancer is found, the greater the treatment options and the potential for cure
  3. The service is free
  4. 9 out of 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer has no family history
  5. Breast Cancer is a disease of aging and one in eleven Australian women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime
  6. In Australia, one woman dies of breast cancer every four hours
  7. Within the public service, you are entitled to one hour's paid leave every two years for cancer screening
  8. No doctor's referral is necessary
  9. It's private, confidential and only takes about 20 minutes
  10. Be pro-active and look after your own health - it could save your life
